The roofer they call after the storm.
Local SEO for roofers
A leaking roof gets searched the day it drips, and a restoration gets quote-shopped. Either way the job starts on Google, and we make sure it starts with you.
What exactly is local SEO?
When someone searches for a roofer, Google leads with a map and three local businesses before any website links. Local SEO is the work of earning one of those three spots across the suburbs you cover, so the storm-week calls and the planned re-roof quotes both start with you. It's one part of the bigger picture, which we've laid out in marketing for roofers.

When is local SEO worth it?
It suits roofers who work a patch and want the local jobs, urgent and planned, coming to them first. It stacks up when:
- your area gets real storm seasons, and the leak calls follow the weather
- you quote restorations and re-roofs, where being seen early wins the job
- you want a spot you keep, not a click bill that never ends
First, we check what your area searches.
Roofing demand is real and measurable: "roof repairs" alone runs about 3,600 searches a month nationally, with leak, restoration and metal-roofing terms behind it. We pull the numbers for your suburbs first, so the plan chases searches that exist.

Lachlan from King Tradie is the top G of tradie website design, development, and management. I've worked with many website agencies and individuals, and no one comes close to Lachlan's attention to detail and high-end quality. He doesn't waste your time asking the same questions; in fact, he did his own research and made the onboarding and entire website development process easy. I normally get myself too involved in projects, but I literally only had to show up for the photography session. Lachlan handled the rest. If you want to skip the time and money wasters, go with King Tradie.

Highly recommend Lachie from King Tradie! He built a new website for my construction business and made the entire process simple and stress-free. I was able to hand over the reins and trust him to take control of the design and development, while still keeping everything clearly explained throughout the process. The finished website looks professional, the quality is excellent, and I'm extremely happy with the outcome. Most importantly, Lachie allowed me to stay focused on running my business instead of spending valuable time trying to build a website myself. Great service from start to finish!

Why KINGTRADIE for your SEO?
-
Trade businesses are all we do
Nothing about how roofing jobs arrive, storm spikes, insurance work, quote-shopping, needs explaining to us before we start.
-
Seasons are part of the plan
Storm months and quiet months need different moves. We work the profile hard when demand spikes and build the base while it cools.
-
Proof over promises
We won't guarantee a map position, nobody honestly can. We show you moving rankings and real enquiries instead.
For every size of roofing business
The same map, three different jobs to do with it.
- 1-3 on the crew
Starter
One crew, work found through referrals and the odd storm rush. The first goal is being findable at all: a complete profile that surfaces when your own suburb searches for a roofer.
- 4-9 on the crew
Growing
A couple of crews and a quote book to fill between storms. We spread your visibility across the wider patch, so the planned work, restorations and re-roofs, comes in year-round.
- 10+ on the crew
Established
The area knows you. Now it's about being the default: first in the map through storm season, first for the big quoted jobs, and too established for the next operator to shift.

Local SEO questions?
See if we answered it below.
What is the Google map pack?
Search "roof repairs" in your suburb and the map with three businesses under it is the map pack. Those three collect most of the clicks, because they come with ratings and a call button before anyone reaches the normal results. After a storm, that box is effectively the shortlist.
What's the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?
The map block and the blue links are two different games. Local SEO plays the first: profile, reviews and suburbs, the things that win "roofer near me". Regular SEO plays the second, ranking your website for research searches like "roof restoration cost" or "metal roofing". Most roofers eventually want both; the website side is our SEO for tradies service.
How much does local SEO cost?
It comes down to two things: how competitive your area is, and how much needs fixing to begin with. Local SEO is an ongoing monthly service rather than a one-off, because the profile work, the citations (the listings of your business name and number across the web) and the reviews all need to keep moving. As a rough guide it usually runs in the low thousands a month for a small roofing business, but the honest answer is that it should be scoped to your suburbs and where you're starting from, which we work out with you on a call. There's no lock-in.
Does local SEO actually work?
Our named client results are on this website, including one whose website traffic and phone enquiries both doubled within two months of SEO work, in their own review words above. The map side runs on the same fundamentals: a complete profile, real reviews, honest suburbs.
Can I do local SEO myself?
The basics, yes, and they're worth doing. Claim and fully fill out your Google Business Profile with your real services, roof leak repairs, re-roofs, tile and metal roofing, gutters and storm damage work, keep your name, address and phone identical everywhere online, and ask every happy client for a review. That alone puts a lot of roofers ahead. The harder part is the ongoing work: fixing citations, building real suburb pages, and keeping reviews coming while you're on the tools. Our local SEO for tradies guide covers what that ongoing work involves.
How many areas can I rank in?
You set a service area, not just one address, and rank across the suburbs inside it. The catch is that Google expects the list to be real. If you'd never send a ute to a suburb, don't list it. A tight, honest area outranks a padded one.
How long does local SEO take?
Movement can come inside 4 to 8 weeks in many areas, with busy metro suburbs closer to 3 to 6 months. The payoff of starting early is timing: a profile that's already strong is positioned to catch the storm-season spikes when they come.
Is SEO dead in 2026?
The search results have changed, the job hasn't. AI answers can explain what a re-roof involves, but the person with the leak still has to pick a roofer, and Google still hands that decision to the map pack. Local trust signals decide it.
