Beyond the summer rush
Marketing for aircon businesses
Website, Google rankings, your Google profile and ads, working as one system so the quiet months still bring work.
How does marketing grow an aircon business?
Four things decide whether an aircon search finds you: your website, your Google rankings, your Google profile, and ads.
-
Gets you in the map when someone nearby searches for aircon repair. Your Google profile and your reviews decide whether you show up.
-
Shows the brands you fit and the jobs you've done, and makes it easy to ask for a quote. Every other channel points here.
-
Ranks your website for the searches people make weeks before they book an install, with no cost for each click.
-
Google Ads for air conditioning companies
Buys the top spot on Google for the days when everyone is searching at once. You pay for each click.
Search and ads decide who finds you. Your website decides who calls. The reviews from each job decide who they trust next summer.

Why air conditioning marketing needs a plan
How people find and pick an aircon or HVAC business keeps shifting. These are the four things we build the plan around.
-
A few hot weeks carry the year
Victoria's power use hit an all time high on 27 January, in a heat event that pushed some places to 50 degrees.
AEMO Quarterly Energy Dynamics, Q1 2026.
-
They research brands before they pick you
Australians run over 35,000 searches a month on aircon brand names. Your website has to show the brands you fit.
Semrush AU, 126 brand terms, pulled 2 Aug 2026.
-
Fixing beats buying, by a fair margin
Across the full pull, repair and servicing searches outnumber new install searches by about three to two.
Semrush AU, full keyword pull, not the eight terms shown. 2 Aug 2026.
-
Not everyone starts on Google now
77% of Australians now use AI, and 12% say it's their main way to find information, up from 5% a year ago.

Lachlan from King Tradie is the top G of tradie website design, development, and management. I've worked with many website agencies and individuals, and no one comes close to Lachlan's attention to detail and high-end quality. He doesn't waste your time asking the same questions; in fact, he did his own research and made the onboarding and entire website development process easy. I normally get myself too involved in projects, but I literally only had to show up for the photography session. Lachlan handled the rest. If you want to skip the time and money wasters, go with King Tradie.

Highly recommend Lachie from King Tradie! He built a new website for my construction business and made the entire process simple and stress-free. I was able to hand over the reins and trust him to take control of the design and development, while still keeping everything clearly explained throughout the process. The finished website looks professional, the quality is excellent, and I'm extremely happy with the outcome. Most importantly, Lachie allowed me to stay focused on running my business instead of spending valuable time trying to build a website myself. Great service from start to finish!

Marketing questions?
See if we answered it below.
Should an aircon business start with SEO or Google Ads?
They do different jobs. Ads can have the phone going this week and stop the day you stop paying. SEO takes months, then keeps working. Google's own data puts an "air conditioning near me" click between $5.25 and $22.28 (Keyword Planner, AU, July 2026), so plenty of aircon businesses run ads through summer while the rankings build.
The work is seasonal. When should I be marketing?
Before the heat, not during it. Rankings and your Google profile take months to move, so June through September is when that work gets done, ready for the January rush. Ads are the part you scale the week a forecast turns. Down south the same reverse cycle systems carry the winter heating load, so there are two peaks, not one.
What if most of my work is repairs, not installs?
That suits search well. Across the full Semrush pull, repair and servicing searches outnumber new install searches by about three to two, and a local map pack shows on close to nine in ten of them (Semrush AU SERP features, 2 Aug 2026). Your Google profile and your reviews end up doing a lot of that work.
How much does air conditioning marketing cost?
That depends on your area and what you already have. We work it out on a call, once we know your patch, whether you run domestic aircon or commercial HVAC, and where you're starting from. No lock-in contracts, and the monthly report shows where the money went.
