The challenge

Nic had a website, but it was generic and the stock photography on it was his biggest complaint. Thirty years in the trade and twenty-six of them local, and the website could have belonged to anyone. Meanwhile the business was paying out more than $500 a month on advertising and buying leads at $40 each that did not always turn into a job.

What we did

• Rebuilt the website around his actual work: his own jobs, his van and his team, with the stock photography gone
• Gave every service and every town he covers its own page, 18 towns in all, so the website answers what people in the area actually search for
• Sorted the behind-the-scenes work so Google could read the website properly, and tuned his Google profile to match
• Put his 4.9 star rating and his ACMA cabler registration where people could see them

The results

Two months after launch Nic wrote it up himself, twice, on Trustpilot and on GoodFirms. His website traffic had doubled and, in his words, most importantly his phone enquiries had doubled. The business is also spending less on advertising than it was when it was buying leads at $40 a time.
