Be the electrician the suburb finds first.
Local SEO for electricians
Electrical work gets booked off the first search: power out, safety switch tripping, EV charger quote. We put your business in front of those searches across the suburbs you cover.
What exactly is local SEO?
Local SEO gets your business into the block Google shows first for nearby searches: the map, the star ratings and the three businesses under it. For an electrician, that block decides who gets the call when a switchboard dies. It's one part of the bigger picture, which we've laid out in marketing for electricians.

When is local SEO worth it?
It suits electricians whose week fills from local call-outs and quoted jobs nearby. The signs it will pay for itself:
- people nearby are searching right now: "electrician near me" runs about 22,200 searches a month across Australia
- a chunk of your work is urgent, and urgent jobs go to whoever the map shows first
- you would rather own your spot on that map than rent it from Google Ads forever
We measure the demand first.
"Electrician near me" runs about 22,200 searches a month in Australia, and that is one term of thousands. Before we promise anything, we pull the real numbers for your suburbs and services, and build the plan on demand that is actually there.

Lachlan from King Tradie is the top G of tradie website design, development, and management. I've worked with many website agencies and individuals, and no one comes close to Lachlan's attention to detail and high-end quality. He doesn't waste your time asking the same questions; in fact, he did his own research and made the onboarding and entire website development process easy. I normally get myself too involved in projects, but I literally only had to show up for the photography session. Lachlan handled the rest. If you want to skip the time and money wasters, go with King Tradie.

Highly recommend Lachie from King Tradie! He built a new website for my construction business and made the entire process simple and stress-free. I was able to hand over the reins and trust him to take control of the design and development, while still keeping everything clearly explained throughout the process. The finished website looks professional, the quality is excellent, and I'm extremely happy with the outcome. Most importantly, Lachie allowed me to stay focused on running my business instead of spending valuable time trying to build a website myself. Great service from start to finish!

The map pack gets you seen, but your website is where the job gets won or lost. If yours is slow or template-built, we sort that first so the clicks turn into calls.

Local SEO questions?
See if we answered it below.
What is the Google map pack?
It's the box with the map and three businesses at the top when you search something like "emergency electrician near me". Google fills it with the businesses it trusts most in that area. It sits above every website link, shows your stars, hours and a call button, and takes the lion's share of clicks for urgent electrical searches.
What's the difference between local SEO and regular SEO?
Local SEO wins the map block for nearby searches and runs on your Google Business Profile, reviews and service suburbs. Regular SEO ranks your website in the standard results for everything else people type, like "ev charger installation cost" or "switchboard upgrade", and reaches past your immediate patch. They compound each other, and we run both: see SEO for tradies.
How much does local SEO cost?
It comes down to two things: how competitive your area is, and how much needs fixing to begin with. Local SEO is an ongoing monthly service rather than a one-off, because the profile work, the citations (the listings of your business name and number across the web) and the reviews all need to keep moving. As a rough guide it usually runs in the low thousands a month for a small electrical business, but the honest answer is that it should be scoped to your suburbs and where you're starting from, which we work out with you on a call. There's no lock-in.
Does local SEO actually work?
One of the reviews on this page says it plainly: two months into SEO work with us, that client's website traffic had doubled and their phone enquiries had doubled with it. The local side is the same discipline pointed at the map: profile, reviews and suburbs. It's slower than ads, and it's yours once it's built.
Can I do local SEO myself?
The basics, yes, and they're worth doing. Claim and fully fill out your Google Business Profile with your real services, switchboard upgrades, EV charger installs, safety switches, level 2 work and emergency call-outs, keep your name, address and phone identical everywhere online, and ask every happy client for a review. That alone puts a lot of electricians ahead. The harder part is the ongoing work: fixing citations, building real suburb pages, and keeping reviews coming while you're on the tools. The full monthly playbook is in our local SEO for tradies guide.
How many areas can I rank in?
Google lets a mobile business list a service area instead of a shopfront address, and that's what most electricians should do. Keep it to suburbs you genuinely take jobs in, up to about two hours out. Padding the list with far suburbs you never work reads as spam to Google and can drag the whole profile down.
How long does local SEO take?
Count on 4 to 8 weeks for first movement in a quieter area, and 3 to 6 months in a contested metro one. Electrical is a crowded category in the cities, so the metro end is the realistic one there. Once you hold a spot, it keeps producing without a per-click bill.
Is SEO dead in 2026?
No, but it has changed. Google's AI now answers plenty of questions directly, yet nobody's AI resets a safety switch. Urgent electrical searches still end in a phone call, and the map pack still decides who gets it. Being the area's trusted profile matters more now, not less.
